Below is an email from the organiser...

The latest results are all in and processed.  But the main issue this week, and it seems that nearly every week for a while, is that I'm getting complaints of one sort or the other - obvious penalties not given, disallowed goals, unsporting conduct, and even a fight on the pitch.  The thing is that until last season we had no complaints at all.  The standard is obviously improving and the games are getting tighter but we mustn't forget that this is still a lunchtime kickabout amongst work colleagues and the outcome really doesn't matter as long as we're all staying a bit fitter and having a laugh with the players from the other teams.  As team managers can you therefore tell your players to be totally honest about decisions, match winning or otherwise, and if there is a disagreement its up to you to do the decent thing and even compromise for the sake of purity in sport. The threat to our league is already on the horizon with the possibilty of Sports Development taking over the organisation of staff sports such as this, including the payment of entry fees to cover the cost of referees and the pitches, but as long as this league works as a friendly I'll fight all I can to keep it in the current form and free to play.  So its basically up to you guys to treat each match with fair play and unbiased decision making as the utmost priority, the alternative is that we may as well give up and resign ourselves to paying for the priviledge of overly competitive, compulsory shinpad wearing, rule bound footy.
