Boots 2 Social Science 2

A strange game really. On a mild and sunny March afternoon both teams created chances, but despite the fair weather a dark cloud of tetchiness hung over both teams. To be honest I'm not really sure anyone from either side really enjoyed this game for reasons that remain a mystery. It didn't take long for the Boots to concede the lead. A swift break down the Boots left resulted in the ball being pulled back to a Social Science striker who was marked by three Boots defenders and had Gudjackson in front of him. Needless to say he scored with considerable ease. Chances came and went for the remainder of the half but the half time score of 0-1 was probably a fair reflection. The second half continued in a similar fashion. It seemed inevitable when Socials went 2-0 up with only 5 minutes to go. A quick break left Gudjackson covering a possible shot and marking two forwards to no avail. Just when all hope seemed to be lost Boberto fired in a cross that went between Wolfgang's legs to Ian who made scoring from 2 inches out look incredibly difficult. Then with time almost out Mike hit a speculative lobb/hopeful cross that managed to avoid both the leaping Ian and the Socials keeper to nestle into the back of the net. 2-2 and that's how it finished folks!

Boots: Toby, Tim, Wolfgang, Stu, Rob, Ali, Ian W, James B, Mike
Boots Scorers: Ian W, Mike

Boot on Debut: James B.....well played!

Iron Boot: Bobeto.....for a tough no nonsense shoulder barge in the 2nd half that left his opponent chuntering like a proper Stu!

Skill Boot: Mike.....a superb lobb for the equalising second goal beautifully placed to avoid their goalkeeper and Ian's attempted clearence.

Stui Costa Chuntering Rating: 9.9/ 10 ....it is just possible that one day he might do better....
