This was an important game for Inter in their race for the championship with OCS that looks likely to be settled by goal difference. OCS's and part time Boot Si Dodd looked on anxiously.......It didn't start well. Playing with a suspected broken finger (which many would call just plain stupid) Gudjackson somehow managed to let the softest of shots to dribble through his grasp into the net....oh dear! Within a minute the Boots were 2-0 down. A failure to pick up players left a man free who finished with power and precision into the bottom corner. But then the Boots came to life and Ian finished off a fine move with a scorcher that the Inter keeper didn't have a chance with. Gudjackson made a couple of decent saves to make up for his earlier gaff but injured his hip in the process. 1-2 down at half time was a respectable effort against a pacy, clinical Inter side. Alas it didn't last. Inter ran a muck in the second half and added another four all of which were good strikes that the Boots couldn't prevent. Gudjackson added further damage to his ageing frame by being stood on, tripped and getting broken finger tips on goal bound screamers. The half seemed to go on for ever and when challenged the non playing Inter time keeper said there was still 6 mins left at 2.10pm. Appparently they had stopped the clock everytime the ball was out of play!! Somehow the score had stayed static for the final 10 mins and it was a shame Boberto hadn't pulled a late goal back with a good close range effort that was charged down.
