Victory!! The first Boots win since 10th Feb. A thoroughly deserved triumph. The Boots dominated the 1st half so much so that Gudjackson didn't have a save to make. A beautifully worked goal saw Wes open the scoring after a great Shi Li through ball and good link up play from Millerdona. It could have been more, but 1-0 at half time was a pleasing score line. For a change the 2nd half continued where the 1st had left off with good passing, great defensive organisation and everybody working for each other. Midway through the half Millerdona went on a great run to knock in the 2nd off a defender and more or less make the game safe.
Boberto was immense, top of his game. Tough tackling and great running down the flanks. Wolfgang settled in well to an unfamiliar left back role and proved his worth with a resolute display. Timinator.....superb. The new General! He organised the defence, set up attacks, ran.....ran and ran some more. Hard tackling to boot! Millerdona - at the top of his game at the moment. Looking very lively and dangerous. Was instrumental in the 1st goal and deserved the 2nd. Ian - could have had a hat trick but for a bit of luck. Probably his best performance for the Boots to date. Shi Li - still very quick!! Terrier like tackling, dashing runs up the flanks and a superb ball for the 1st goal. Wes - top draw finish for his goal. Played well up front and just to show he isn't a one show pony had a go at left back and looked just as assured. Rich looks like he's getting fitter! Ran his little cotton socks off. Held the ball up brilliantly which really helped the team keep possession and not let ourselves come under pressure. McAlister - the Boot without Boots! Came on and ran hard. Caused sufficient problems to force Mech Eng to keep players back when they had to chase the game. Linked up well with Rich and Shi Li.
Iron Boot: Timinator - for several tough challenges and persuading others to follow suit!
Skill Boot: Wes/Shi Li/Millerdona - great goal!
Soft Slipper: Rich - for his histrionics after being fouled in the 2nd half.
